Martigues Sport Cyclisme Projet Erasmus

SET4DC aim at elite cyclist willing to continue their professional sports a career as a management and/or supporting in cycling clubs. The target groups are cyclists, coaches, and managers, researchers, volunteers, state and private sports organizations. The main goal is to facilitate a successful career of young athletes by bringing them the right supporting training and hence contributing that at a later stage of life, they keep a balance between sports training and employment. As we all know, it is very difficult for elite athletes to combine studying with intense training, and participation in numerous competitions and camps. Their active career in most cases ends at the age of 30-35, after which they go to the labor market without the necessary education and experience and it is very difficult for them. The lack of a legal framework and a stable state policy, as well as a strong interconnection between the sports system, the education system and working conditions lead to the abandonment of sports by future champions, which leads to fewer people participating in sports clubs. In some European countries, a lot of effort is already being done to improve conditions and the 'dual career' has already started. Our goal is to make a large-scale study and through in-depth analysis to take the best of the experience gained so far, as well as to reach our conclusions, which we will systematize in Handbook and Online Platform. The partners of the project are: Martigues Sport Cyclisme – Payden&Rygel Novák Cycling Academy SSV Gera 1990 e.V. Champions Factory Nordic European Mobility University of Thessaly
